​​Ataumbi Metals is the studio of Kiowa jewelry designer Keri Ataumbi. Originally from Wyoming, Keri attended the Rhode Island School of Design before relocating to Santa Fe in 1990. Her work explores the intersection of materials valued by both Native and non-Native communities, raising aesthetic and environmental questions that encourage consumers to reflect on what they hold most important. By blending precious and found materials, Keri’s pieces challenge the value systems different cultures assign to materials and adornment. Her work seeks to transmute the philosophical and ceremonial continuums central to Native American identity, while remaining deeply rooted in Kiowa aesthetics, offering a modern interpretation of traditional adornment.
