Handmade in Newport, RI by John Zuerner of Zürner Oceanic, each large tote is crafted from heavy-duty #6 cotton duck canvas sailcloth and finished with vintage and reclaimed yachting materials. One-of-a-kind and individually numbered, this is a limited edition of 10 pieces.

Materials & Craftsmanship

• 12 hrs. to hand produce.
• Bottom created from a vintage sail
• Handles reinforced with solid brass rivets with stainless steel washers
• Dark navy & white fleck sunglass loop
• Exterior side pocket created from a reclaimed vintage orange storm sail featuring a stainless-steel hook & loop closure
• Handles made from authentic reclaimed marine grade vintage yacht line (approximate 10” rise)
• Due to their time at sea our totes come with their own patina, and we encourage their further development.

Zürner Oceanic

Zürner Oceanic, based in Newport, RI, is a line of handmade canvas bags and accessories founded by designer John Zuerner. A retired professional sailor, John leverages his expertise in yacht rigging to create unique designs. His passion for sailing inspired him to repurpose vintage nautical materials, highlighting their weathered charm. The business was launched in 2017, with John custom-making products from his home. In 2020, alongside his wife Jennifer they moved their studio into their first retail location.
