Greenfield Clothiers

A Legacy of Craft and Precision

Greenfield Clothiers, founded by master tailor Martin Greenfield in Brooklyn, has been synonymous with fine hand-tailoring for over half a century. A Holocaust survivor, Martin Greenfield arrived in America in 1947 and began his career as a floor boy in a Brooklyn factory.

Renowned for his exacting standards and impeccable craftsmanship, Greenfield went on to dress some of the most influential figures of the past decades, from U.S. presidents to Hollywood stars. His atelier specializes in bespoke suiting, where each garment is meticulously cut, sewn, and finished by hand, exemplifying the artistry and precision that define true luxury.

The Work

Greenfield Clothiers remains a beacon of traditional tailoring in an ever-changing fashion landscape. Today, the atelier is run by Martin’s sons, Jay and Tod Greenfield, who carry forward their father’s legacy with the same dedication to craftsmanship and precision. Integral to the team is Richard Masciantonio, Martin’s longtime mentee and the head pattern maker, whose expertise as a highly skilled tailor ensures that each garment is crafted to the highest standard–from fabric selection to hand-sewn buttonholes.

Greenfield Clothiers stands as both a symbol of sartorial excellence and a living piece of history, where the art of tailoring is preserved and passed down through generations. For its first offering together, OST worked with Greenfield to develop the perfect blue blazer and classic trouser – two iconic American wardrobe staples.
