The Fabric
Hand-woven by textile artist Julie Rose Clapton on her century-old counterbalance loom, using wool from Shetland and Hebridean sheep sourced from the Isle of Mull and naturally dyed with madder root. The weave structure is based on a historic Scottish coverlet pattern, chosen to preserve the full Scottish lineage of the suit—fiber, weaver, and design. The specific draft comes from a Scottish weaver who later emigrated to Canada

The Jacket
A cropped, collarless jacket in hand-woven wool, inspired by 1960s tailoring. Designed to sit at the waist with a clean, structured line. Features included hand-forged sterling silver buttons by silversmith Heath Wagoner.

The Skirt
A mid-calf column skirt in the same hand-woven wool. Cut to fall straight with a lean, elongating silhouette. Finished with a simple waistband and back closure.

Made-to-Order
Available in standard sizes; offered as a suit or as individual pieces.
Estimated 4–6 week lead time.

Due to the hand of the textile, pieces are offered in a limited edition of 5.

    ABOUT THE MAKER

    Julie Rose Clapton x OST

Julie Rose Clapton is a fiber-based artist in Edinburgh, Scotland, whose work centers on reciprocity and land stewardship. After studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, she began her material research in wool during a residency at the Textile Arts Center in New York, learning to hand-process fleece, spin yarn, and train under shepherd Mary Berle of Lila’s Mountain Farm—a practice she continues through annual lambing visits. Working directly with individual farmers, she designs with a full life cycle in mind, creating pieces intended to return to the Earth.
