The Balaclava

This piece is designed by Pearl Reddington in Leitrim and knit in Kilcar, Co. Donegal, using 100% merino Donegal Tweed yarn spun by Donegal Yarns.

The dense rib and cable stitch pattern gives structure while allowing a natural stretch that fits closely to the face. The textured surface mimics the ridges and furrows of the bog, with flecks in the yarn reflecting the earthy tones of peat and moss.

Each balaclava is hand-finished by Pearl in her home studio.
